Camp Explore
For Young Adults ages 18 and up
We Are Explorers!
Camp Explore is a thoughtfully designed 4-week summer day program created for individual ages 18 and older with Intellectual and Developmental Special Abilities. This unique program will incorporate traditional summer camp activities, leisure education, and pre-vocational opportunities through community volunteer service and job training participation. Programming is hands-on, experiential, and intentionally encourages independence and creative thinking. Our "Explorers" will engage in activities that will develop and strengthen critical life skills, including but not limited to, community social skills, independent living skills, and on the job training. As well as activities that appeal to the interest of our participants, like field trips, arts and crafts, gardening, and loads of fun.
This program is offered in a small group format and all activities can be adapted to meet the abilities of our participants. Our commitment is to ensure they have an enjoyable and successful experience at our summer day program.
PLEASE NOTE: This program is designed to promote community recreation and not intended to provide behavior therapy interventions, tools, or techniques.
