'EVERY DAY I LIVE IT', MOM CREATES SUMMER CAMP FOR KIDS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

Summer camps are in full swing this year after the pandemic halted most of them last year. For kids and young adults with disabilities, finding a camp that can accommodate their needs can be challenging. Nikia Bye wanted her son, Malyk, to experience the same right of passage as most kids. He has autism, and Bye said she has had a hard time finding a camp that provides the right services and experiences for kids with special needs. MECKLENBURG COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE & CAMP TRUSTED PARENTS

MSOC is committed to community engagement and clearly our team has fun doing it. They had an excellent time with the young men and women that were attending Camp Trusted Parents. It was sports week for the campers, so the team stretched their legs and got on the field for some flag football. Watch the inspirational video here!
