First Time Campers

We know how important your children are to you, and that by choosing one of our camps as a place for them to spend their summer, you have placed a deep trust in us to provide a physically and emotionally safe place for them. We do not take this trust lightly and will do everything we can to give your child a safe, growing, rewarding, and wonderful experience.

We strive to provide a fun experience for each camper as they learn new skills, meet new friends, and encourage team building. We realize that it is difficult to address every question or concern parents may have on our website, so feel free to e-mail us or call us at (980) 229-7253 with any questions that you may have.

First-Time Camper Jitters

Since this may be your child’s first time at our camp, it’s also possible that this transition may be hard for them as they are in an unfamiliar environment.  This is normal and is almost always, most likely, conquered after the first few days of attending camp. We are patient and will support them through this transition process.

Here are some ways to prepare them for camp

  • Encourage your child’s independence throughout the year. Practice separations, such as going to a friend or family member’s house for a couple of hours without you.

  • Discuss with your child some of the activities they will experience at camp.

  • Reinsure them that after their day at camp, you will be right there to pick them up at the end of the day.

  • Visit our camp website and gallery and allow your child to view some of the photos taken of our campers from previous summers.

  • Bring your child to the planned Mandatory Parent Orientation meetings. This will give you and your child the opportunity to tour the campus and get familiar with the camp environment and staff.
